Im April des Jahres 1725 entschloss sich der Graf Zinzendorf zu einem bedeutsamen literarischen Schritt: Er verließ das bisherige parochial-spirituell begrenzte Publikationsfeld und ging mit einer ausgeweiteten Thematik an die „breite“ Öffentlichkeit.
